Hi everyone,

Hope you are all having a great weekend. I wanted to take some time out ( first phrasal verb introduction, sorry ) and share my sympathy with you, when it comes to phrasal verbs.
We have thousands and yes, I agree, they are not so logical. All the time spent learning the meaning of verbs and conjugations, and then they arrive…Phrasal verbs!!😀

Ok, let me start by saying I apologise on behalf of the English language, but there is hope, trust me, I have been teaching them for years and I have seen a huge improvement in all of my students.

Why are phrasal verbs so important.

Phrasal verbs are so important and very common in everyday speech and informal writing.
Learning phrasal verbs will give you more fluency and really help you connect to English speakers, they are familiar and friendly and really, they will give you the opportunity to communicate your feelings and ideas.

My personal phrasal verb tip.

Give yourself a realistic target. Try 2 new phrasal verbs in a week. Choose 2 connected to your work or private life and throughout the day, repeat them, connect them to certain situations, write them down, until, it becomes part of your vocabulary. Keep it simple and don’t stress out ( another, sorry ) and never give up!
Hope to hear from you all soon,
Liz

Hello there. My name is Elizabeth and I am a native English speaker. I have been teaching English now for over 7 years. I started teaching in my hometown, Nottingham, where I taught immigrants, who needed to pass a proficiency exam, in order to stay in the Country. It was this experience that made me want to dedicate my career to teaching others, not only for the language, but the benefits that English can give to others in order to improve and grow in their lives. I am TEFL qualified and am currently living in Italy where I have taught both in a private school, external businesses including Legal firms, HR companies and banks. I have also created my own private teaching business which gives me the opportunity to teach various levels and ages, from 10 years to 60. I also have experience in IELTS speaking preparation. I tailor make my teaching method to my students. I aim for interesting and stimulating lessons. Life is busy and full so learning should be a pleasure.I believe in full immersion, focusing on the grammar and allowing you to use it with my guide. I always correct, but I never interrupt. I like to review and repeat, this has positive results. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks so much and have a great day, Liz.
