Hi, My Name is Jared. I'm a native English teacher from New Zealand and I have been working in education for over 10 years. I hold a TESOL certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language. More importantly, my experience includes over 10,000 hours of online English classes and I have taught in both the academic and outdoor education sectors. Teaching is something I love so much because not only can I teach from my experiences, I can also learn a lot from my student's experiences. Currently, I am living and working in South America, where I myself am a language student. My style is heavily based on conversational English with an emphasis on teaching pronunciation and vocabulary in fun and interesting ways.

I am an English-Spanish translator and teacher currently living in Spain. I first started teaching at NIU, Illinois, USA, as a Teaching Assistant, and once I graduated from my Master's degree I started to work as a Court interpreter and translator. After a few years I came to Spain, where I am teaching English and Spanish, while I still work as a translator (specialized in Psychology). Being a translator helps me better understand the process of learning a foreign language as an adult, and develop my teaching and language coaching techniques. Let me show you how - let's build your English (or Spanish) skills together and improve what you already have. You will enjoy learning with me! Soy profesora de inglés americano y vivo en España. The atmosphere of my lessons is relaxed, comfortable, and professional. You will do at least 70% of the talking. You’ll gain confidence from our lessons, and this will encourage you to practice your English in public without fear. Most lessons will include the following components: 1. “Small talk:” A social conversation about, for example, your recent weekend activities. 2. Review of our previous lesson. 3. Accent reduction and pronunciation practice: Reading aloud from a short text. 4. Main activity: We'll use a text, video, or audio sample as the vehicle to learn the new and reinforce the old. 5. Closing: Review today's lesson and plan for next lesson. During the trial lesson, we’ll find out a little about each other. We’ll talk about your needs and interests in any special vocabulary, reading and writing skills, and speaking and listening proficiency. I will ask you to estimate your level of proficiency now, and what level you want to achieve in the next three months. ...
