Hello Verbling Community, my name is Oluwaseun Joseph. I am a Nigerian and Yorùbá man. I am currently in the final year of my first degree at the University of Lagos, Akoka in Nigeria. I have been tutoring an American in Yorùbá language, culture and history since May 2019 till now (Virtually. We have had some physical classes early in 2020 before the lockdown). I was born and raised in Ilesa, a Yoruba city in the southwestern part of Nigeria where I spent decades actively using Yoruba as a native speaker, academically learning it; and later, teaching it. My passion has made me relevant in the training of several individuals from different parts of the world with whom I keep contact daily, teaching the beautiful language. You can presently find me in Germany: working, volunteering, and training in the field of Linguistics and African Verbal Arts. You can also catch me writing my new book and happily creating contents for my social media pages. ME AS A TEACHER My latest success story: Three months ago, I started teaching an Italian woman, we started with three lessons per week, then gradually slowed it down to two per week. Today we both speak and write in Yoruba. Trust me, we are still on that path to fluency. I get the question e...
