¡Hola! My name is Ana. I'm 26 years old and I am a Mexican language teacher and translator. I grew up in Mexico with a strong bilingual education both in French and English. I studied in the National Autonomous University of Mexico a BA in Latin American Studies with a specialization in Contemporary Literature, and was certified by the French Institute of Latin American as a Literature, Humanities and Social Sciences translator.
I have several years of experience working as a private tutor of English, Spanish and French with students of different age range including children, teenagers and adults, and from beginner to advanced level. Furthermore, I have worked as an English teacher in an international school and in a specialist language school, held the position of Assistant Professor of Latin American Literature, and taught chess to children.
I am a very creative teacher who adapts easily to new contexts. I like to think that my lessons provide the perfect space for students to learn a language since I customise every activity to take into account each person’s abilities, interests and needs, making learning feel fun but also meaningful and relevant. I help my students to reach their goals and together we create an atmosphere where they can feel confident, learn at their own pace and in their very own style. I always enjoy talking with people from all over the world and I am convinced that as a native Spanish speaker from Latin America with a degree specialised in Literature, Culture and History, that I have a valuable perspective to offer.
During a full academic year, I taught Beginner and Intermediate level English to academic, administrative and maintenance staff in an international school. The teaching groups were made up of 4 to 15 adults with varying experience of the English language.
