I am Mutondwa, I am a vibrant 26-year-old young lady from Cape Town/Johannesburg, South Africa. I am a qualified TEFL holder who loves the English language, I passed my TEFL course with i-to-i learning institute.
I am a lover of all things creative.
On paper, I am a finance girl, with a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Planning and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Business Management.
I am, however, a multi-faceted human being who loves writing, teaching and course design. I live to explore all areas of my creativity and tap into every sphere of my personality as a human being. I refuse to be boxed and limited to just one avenue of living and expression.
My strong academic background gives me the backdrops I need to be more technical in my teaching. I also genuinely take interest in my learners, this means their stories as well. As a result, I tend to also be friends with my students, who feel comfortable enough to share their own stories and experiences. I am a financial planner by qualification and a writer, blogger, teacher, and lover of the English language by passion.
I come from a corporate banking background having worked as a Corporate Banker for one of South Africa's biggest Investment Banks for two years. This experience has taught me a great deal about articulation and efficient business communication. I have teaching experience with teaching both adults, teens, and group classes of up to 6 students. I boast an energetic, patient and friendly energy which my students seem to love and appreciate. I am able to be both fun and engaging without compromising on my professionalism.
I have 3 years of teaching experience which includes teaching Conversational, Business, and Everday English both online and in person. I am familiar with the CEFR classifications and I also have some experience conducting IELTS speaking and writing exams and editing and correcting English essays.
I use videos, ppt slides, discussion questions, business books, literature books, and writing exercises. I also like collaborating with my students, therefore if there is anything you want to suggest or work on we can discuss it together :)
I boast an energetic, patient and friendly energy which you'll love. I am able to be both fun and engaging without compromising on my professionalism.
