Sobre mí

Hi! My name is Casie, and I'm an English teacher from the USA (specifically New York City!). I have been living overseas for four years now working as an English teacher - I have spent three wonderful years teaching English in Spain (Madrid, Granada, and a "pueblo" in Extremadura) and am now teaching in Vietnam. I specialize in teaching college-age students and adults conversational English - you know, English that you'll actually use when talking to a native or fellow English speaker! Beyond "textbook stuff". My goal is to help students feel comfortable in their fluency and confident in their speaking and listening abilities.

I have worked in a wide range of settings, teaching students of many different levels and cultural backgrounds. After working for three years as an English teaching assistant in Spain, I got my TEFL certification to further my teaching abilities and become a fully-certified ESL teacher.

My teaching style is interactive, casual and above all FUN! I've learned a second language myself (Spanish), and I know how frustrating it can be at times. My goal is to have students have fun while they learn, not be afraid to make mistakes, and incorporate interesting and relevant conversational topics that are engaging. I don't want students to feel like they are "in class" with me- rather, they are practicing speaking with a native-English-speaking friend in a coffee shop.

Of course, if you are a student that has a specific goal (IE - business English, casual English, expand vocabulary, expand coherency) I'm happy to tailor our class time to your needs! The most important thing is that I help you get what you want out of our class. :)
